New Executive Appointments: Expansion Includes Distribution Agreement with Tomy Digital Biology in Japan, New European Office
EMERYVILLE, CA, April 02, 2003 — Marking the company’s second anniversary and building on the market success of its Biotique Local Integration System (BLIS) for biological data integration, analysis and visualization, Biotique Systems, Inc. today announced that it is expanding its operations internationally.
As part of this expansion, Biotique Systems has signed an exclusive marketing and distribution agreement for its complete product line with Tomy Digital Biology Co. Ltd. in Japan, and has opened a new European office in Basel, Switzerland. The company also announced the appointment of two new executives: Claudio Schmid, Ph.D. as vice president and general manager of Biotique’s European office, and Brad Lomas, J.D., general counsel and vice president, business development.

Biotique also performs chip and probe design services for customers using the BLIS system who wish to design custom arrays.
