d2_cluster is a software program that groups EST and mRNA files into gene clusters while accounting for sequencing error, unknown repeats, and chimerism. CRAW is a complementary program that separates the gene clusters into distinct isoforms. Originally co-authored by Biotique’s co-founder and President, John Burke, the tools have been registered by hundreds of institutions and form a core component of several commercial EST clustering systems (The DoubleTwist Clustering and Alignment Tools and Stack from Electric Genetics).
